WGEA 2010: Sunday, April 25 to Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Western Group on Educational Affairs Regional Meeting

Sunday, April 25 – Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Asilomar Conference Center, Pacific Grove, CA

The regional meeting of the AAMC’s Western Group on Educational Affairs (WGEA) will be hosted by UC Davis in April 2010, and we are hoping that CRIME members will contribute with posters, panels, papers, and small group discussions.

The major theme of the conference is “Health and Interprofessional Education for the Underserved: Model Programs and Innovations.” Subthemes and tracks will focus on innovative programs in curriculum, interprofessional education, educational technology, faculty development, and CME.

This is an opportunity for you to share your wisdom on issues such as:
  • The benefits and limitations of distance education technologies to support teaching and assessment
  • How effective is problem-based or case-based learning using standardized patients when sessions are conducted at a distance using multi-point videoconferencing?
  • What approaches are you using for faculty development for this new way of teaching?
  • How are you integrating telemedicine into your teaching programs? How are you approaching assessment of clinical skills in these setting?

We would also appreciate your ideas on how to make this meeting a success. Great speaker? Hot topics for discussion? Entertainment ideas?

As always, the CRIME Meeting will happen on Sunday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are hoping for a great turnout at this meeting.

Check out the Conference Website.
